Cliff Randell is a Research Fellow in the Computer Science Department of the University of Bristol, U.K. He is currently carrying out research as part of the EPSRC funded Equator IRC in collaboration with the Universities of Sussex and Glasgow, and Central St Martins College of Art and Design. He has been researching and building wearable computers for the past six years. His wide ranging interests include positioning technologies, context sensing, the use of audio for mobile applications, and the integration of sensors, wiring and displays into textiles. He recently took part in the Ambient Wood project providing location sensitive devices to support childrens' learning and reflection skills. He obtained his BSc in Electrical Engineering and MSc in Computer Science from the University of Bristol, and is a member of the IEE and IEEE.
